The Smart City Event

CIP will be on-site at The Smart City Event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from January 29-February 1. This annual event allows attendees to learn about how IoT innovations are changing the face of large cities in the modern era. Attendees will learn about cutting edge solutions that lie ahead and how organizations can leverage this opportunity for growth.

On Thursday, January 31st at 3 PM, CIP members Yoshitake Kobayashi, CIP Chair of the Technical Steering Committee and Senior Manager of The Open-Source Technology Department, Toshiba Corporation, and Urs Gleim, CIP Chair of the Governing Board and Head of Smart Embedded Systems, Siemens AG, will give a presentation entitled, How to make Smart Cities stay Smart with Open Source Projects. The presentation will showcase how CIP will improve Linux-based civil infrastructure systems, build upon existing open-source foundations and expertise, establish de facto standards by providing a base layer reference implementation, and contribute to and influence upstream projects regarding industrial needs.
